#10 Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
The second DC Universe Animated Original Movie scheduled for release in 2020 is titled Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, DC has confirmed. The film is a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Justice League Dark (2017), an R-rated outing that saw Batman recruit John Constantine, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Etrigan, and Black Orchid to help him deal with a strange outbreak of seemingly supernatural behavior.
“A great introduction to some lesser-known DC characters, and here’s hoping that Constantine and Co. are utilized in further animated outings down the line,” Starburst magazine’s Andrew Polland said in his glowing review.
[adace-ad id=”884″]It looks like Pollard gets his wish, but also Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is likely to include some characters from the DC Universe’s cosmic corner. “While it is uncertain which heroes will return to the war in Apokolips, the title suggests that we might see some of the New Gods of Jack Kirby. Which means it actually has some pretty big consequences for the current continuity of DC Universe, “said Tim Beedle of DC.com. Fans of DC comics will be well aware that the Apokolips Civil War took place after the death of the tyrannical Darkseid, who will make his live-action appearance in the upcoming New Gods movie of Ava DuVernay. Is this the same fight mentioned in the title? We’re going to have to wait until spring 2020 to find out.
