10. Chapel of Bones in Portugal
Could there be a scarier place than a chapel decorated with human skulls and bones? There are around 5000 skeletons of monks here but the most spine-chilling view is that of child’s desiccated corpse dangling from ropes. Warning at the entrance says “We bones that here are, for yours await”. Creepy, isn’t it?
