Johnny Depp May Return To ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ After Verdict

A former Walt Disney executive thinks Depp could make a comeback

Johnny Depp could return to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise after winning a defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, a former Walt Disney executive believes.

Depp, who has been embroiled in a highly heated trial over the past six weeks, issued a statement following his victory.

The actor insisted that “the jury gave me my life back” and that “the best is yet to come”.

How many Pirates of the Caribbean movies has Johnny Depp made?

Depp is best known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, although he has also appeared in many other films over the years.

He was nominated for an Oscar for his lead role in the 2003 original film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.”

Could Johnny Depp return to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’?

While the actor is expected to take a break after a tense trial, he may be back for another “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie after the first five films have been released.

A studio insider told PEOPLE: “I absolutely believe that ‘Pirate’ is ready for a reboot with Johnny back on board as Captain Jack.”

“There’s just too much potential box office treasure for a beloved character deeply rooted in Disney culture.

“As Jerry Bruckheimer shines on Tom Cruise’s massive success in Top Gun: Maverick, there’s a huge interest in bringing back bankable Hollywood stars in hugely popular franchises.”
